Swinside Farmhouse dates from the 17th Century and is set in the scenic northern approach to the Newlands Valley, surrounded by stunning views of England’s highest mountains. Conveniently placed for access to the Western slopes of Borrowdale, Swinside is only a few minutes drive from the bustle of Keswick.

Swinside Farm House is deceptively spacious, with higher than expected beamed ceilings and a lovely wide staircase.
There is a large dining room/lounge where guests can enjoy good farmhouse breakfasts and relax in comfort.

Spent 2 nights here, clean, comfortable, very nice. Breakfast was beautifully cooked. There is an Inn across the road with great meals, log fire and one of the nights we where there was some folk music being played by visitors. Great we place with lovely location.

One of the best bed and breakfasts I have stayed at , the rooms are immaculate , clean and comfortable , the hosts jo and rob are friendly , welcoming and charming ,ideally situated in beautiful countryside , just out of Keswick and across the road from a traditional pub with real ales and real fires .The breakfast served was the best I’ve ever had , the bacon and sausage were so tasty ! , I will recommend this place to my friends and will definitely visit again ! , superb !

I don’t normally write reviews but made an exception for this place. It ticks all the boxes. The rooms are comfortable, beautifully decorated and clean. The owner Jo is lovely and was very helpful, beyond the call of duty, to make our stay as wonderful as possible. But the cherry on the cake was breakfast: culinary alchemy of the highest standard. One member of our group commented that it was the best breakfast he had ever had in his life!
Vegetarian option too. Wonderful.

Tucked away in the peaceful village of Braithwaite, Haystacks is a modern three-bed house that is child friendly. Its tasteful Swedish retro-style interior and wood-burning stove offer a feeling of comfort in the cold winter months, while it is light and airy in the warmer seasons and the enclosed garden is a real sun trap in the summer. It sleeps up to six people and makes an ideal base for families wishing to explore the fells, forests, lakes and towns of the beautiful northern Lake District.
